As Associate Director of a non-profit organization in Reno, Eric Novak acted as developer and project manager for this 90-unit, tax credit assisted living residence; the first of its kind in the state of Nevada. The project, sponsored by the state Model Assisted Living Advisory Committee and the City of Las Vegas, entails the development of a 10-acre affordable, long-term care campus, consisting of 90 units of licensed assisted living and 80 units of HUD Section 202 elderly housing. 100 percent of the units will serve low-income frail elderly persons. Mr. Novak developed the project concept, assembled the development team, and secured the financing—including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, HOME funds, State Housing Trust Funds, Federal Home Loan Bank Affordable Housing Program funds, and a significant grant from Harrah’s Entertainment. The development opened in June 2006.
