Praxis Consulting Group recently provided development finance services as a subcontractor to Abt Associates of Cambridge, MA towards the redevelopment of a vacant public housing development into 60 new construction single-family homes and duplex rental units. The client was the Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas. The financing included public housing capital funds as well as Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and FHLB AHP funds. Otto Mérida Desert Villas is the first public housing mixed-finance development in the state of Nevada. The development opened in July 2007. It is the recipient of numerous awards, including a 2008 "Award of Merit" from NAHRO and landscape awards from the American Society of Landscape Architects and from the Southern Nevada Water Authority
